Retail Garden Center Associate

We’re looking for a well rounded individual to join our small team. Ideal candidate is excited to jump into all aspects of garden center operations.

Responsibilities:

• Greeting customers, helping with plant selection and design in greenhouses & nursery yard (sales!)
• Greenhouse production activities (planting, pruning, restocking, tidying up)
• Unloading, pricing & merchandising incoming perennials, trees & shrubs
• Watering, cutting back, weeding & tidying nursery stock
• Covering store shifts
• Operating machinery i.e loading bulk products for retail and wholesale customers

Expectations:

• Excellent customer service & interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather
• Relevant experience in horticulture/agriculture

Must be prepared for long days on your feet and occasional heavy lifting. Weekend availability
and horticultural knowledge are a plus! Pay commensurate with experience starting at $22+/hr.

Schedule details:

• 5-6 days/week (40-55 hrs) April/May/June
• 5 days/week (40+ hrs) July-October
• 1 Week Paid Vacation
