Youth Program Asst, Commodore Club – Vergennes

The Commodore Club (formerly the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Vergennes) is seeking a caring and responsible Youth Program Assistant to help provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging after-school environment for local children in grades 5 through 12.

This part-time position (15 hours per week) plays a key role in supporting daily activities, building positive relationships, and ensuring that all youth feel welcomed and supported.

​Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

What You'll Do:

  • Supervise and engage with youth in daily activities, games, and enrichment programs
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment
  • Help plan and lead recreational and educational activities
  • Provide guidance and encouragement during after-school homework or projects
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized program space
  • Support the Club's policies, safety procedures, and code of conduct
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with children or teens (in schools, camps, recreation, or community programs) preferred
  • Friendly, dependable, and positive attitude
  • Ability to connect with youth from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Background check required prior to employment
Details
  • Pay: Starting at $25.00 per hour
  • Hours: Approximately 15 hours per week (Monday–Friday,3–6 PM)
  • Location: The Commodore Club, 20 Armory Lane, Vergennes, VT
