Long-term Substitute - Elementary Special Educator

Addison Northwest School District is seeking a long-term substitute in a K-5 school environment to cover a Special Educator position. Candidates with general education licensure and experience teaching reading are also encouraged to apply. The position begins immediately, with the duration undetermined but expected through the end of October or November 2025.

Important qualities include:

  • Current Vermont teaching license (Special Education or Elementary Education preferred)
  • Experience teaching reading and delivering small-group or individualized instruction
  • Knowledge of IEPs and ability to implement accommodations and modifications as directed
  • Strong classroom management and behavior support skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, specialists, and support staff
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Orton Gillingham training/experience preferred
