Preschool Aide to Join Our Caring, Creative Team!

Evergreen Preschool is seeking a warm, reliable, and energetic Preschool Aide to support our early childhood educators and help nurture young minds in a fun, safe, and enriching environment.

Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10:00 - 4:15, and Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00 - 2:15.
Evergreen Preschool follows the Addison Northwest School Calendar with a few minor adjustments. In-service days are professional work days. 
Start Date: August, 20,2025 - June 22, 2026, with flexibility for additional days due to snow days in the winter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities
  • Supervise and engage with children during play, meals, and rest time
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
  • Foster a positive and respectful atmosphere for children, staff, and families
  • Support with daily routines, including  toileting, handwashing, and maintaining a clean, stocked, and organized classroom

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with young children preferred
  • At least a high school graduate or has completed a GED and completes the Fundamentals for Early Childhood Professionals’ course or the Vermont Afterschool Essentials Certificate within the first twelve (12) months of employment; or • At least a high school graduate or has completed a GED and successful completion of a three (3) college credit course in child or human development or school age care and education within the first twelve (12) months of employment.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a love for working with children
  • Must pass a background and fingerprint check 
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age 
  • Must complete an American Red Cross or American Heart Association Adult and Child CPR & First Aid training before August 20, 2025. Financial reimbursement is available for the cost of the class. The Aide agrees to complete at least 15 hours of professional development each year. Professional development funds are available to support any costs of the training.  
  • Lift up to 40 lbs, bend, squat, and get up and down on the floor, walk long distances, and wheel wagons up and down our playground hill.

  • The aide may enroll in the American Funds simple IRA, and the Evergreen Preschool will match their contribution dollar for dollar up to 3%.
