School Wide Behavior Interventionist

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate School-Wide Behavior Interventionist at Vergennes Union Elementary School to support students across the building who are experiencing behavioral or social-emotional challenges. This key position fosters a safe and supportive environment, implements targeted behavior supports, and contributes to our school’s Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Includes the following, other duties may be assigned.

  • Respond to behavioral crises and provide in-the-moment student support.
  • Deliver proactive and de-escalation strategies to assist with student regulation.
  • Collaborate on behavior intervention plans and crisis response.
  • Support students during transitions, in classrooms, and non-academic settings.
  • Collect and document behavioral data and intervention outcomes.
  • Model and promote trauma-informed, restorative, and PBIS-aligned practices.
  • Participate in student support meetings and relevant professional development.

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:


Degree Preferred: Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or related field preferred.
RBT or BCaBA certification required.

Experience:
  • Experience supporting students with behavioral needs strongly preferred.
  • CPI certification or willingness to obtain required.
  • Ability to remain calm and responsive under stress.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
