Speech Language Pathologist

The Addison Northwest School District is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for our Ferrisburgh Central School (grades K - 5) to evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. To treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. Provide training and education to staff and families and work collaboratively with a variety of professionals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Include the following, and other duties may be assigned.

  • Work with school-age children and young adults
  • Listen to concerns about academic, social language problems and provide strategies and interventions to remediated concerns
  • Provide consultative services to staff
  • Evaluate and diagnosis of speech, language, and communication disorders
  • Treat via direct instruction speech, language, and communication disorders
  • Meet with parents and teachers to discuss speech, language, and communication concerns
  • Research and implement learning programs
  • Conduct special education evaluations
  • Work with students who use augmentative and alternative communication systems
  • Provide aural rehabilitation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Degree Preferred: Masters, and obtain clinical SLP license
  • License: Vermont Professional Educator’s License with Educational Speech Language Pathologist (6-84)
  • Experience Preferred:1+ years
  • Additional Requirements: Experience with young children in educational setting preferred
  • FTE:.80
