Business Manager

Addison Northwest School District is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Manager to lead the district’s financial operations. This senior-level position plays a critical role in long-range financial planning, budget development, grant management, and oversight of accounting, payroll, and purchasing functions. The Business Manager is a key advisor to the Superintendent, administrators, and School Board.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and management of the district’s operating budget
  • Oversee financial reporting, cash flow, audits, and internal controls
  • Supervise accounting, payroll, purchasing, and benefits administration
  • Provide financial guidance to support decision-making and policy development
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Manage grants, insurance, vendor contracts, and investment strategies
  • Monitor fundraising and student activity accounts
  • Support collective bargaining with financial analysis
Position Type: Full-time
Salary: up to $115,000 Per Year

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field required (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in school finance or related leadership role
  • VASBO certification preferred (or completion within 3 years)
  • Strong skills in budget development, financial reporting, grant compliance, and personnel supervision
  • Knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and state educational finance regulations
  • At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
