Preschool Paraeducator

The Addison Northwest School District is looking for a Paraeducator for its Preschool program at Ferrisburgh Central School. The Paraeducator is responsible for providing support to the classroom teacher in ensuring that the individual and small group of students receives services that are consistent with the needs and help develop individual skills in the areas of motor, communication, cognitive and social/self-help development. This is a school year position that works 7:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Full time available by providing support for the after school program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists in providing individual one to one work with student in academic/speech language/motor areas as needs warrant under direction of classroom teacher, EEP teacher and/or SLP
• Assists in providing work with teachers, within the classroom and on the playground as deemed appropriate by the director
• Assists in keeping the classroom environment pleasant and safe for children
• Enforces school and/or classroom expectations
• Attends team meetings as necessary
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree Preferred:Associates degree
• Experience:1 year - Experience with young children in educational setting preferred
