Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union is seeking a knowledgeable and collaborative Teacher: Preschool for Barstow Memorial School. The educator plans, organizes, and delivers a high-quality instructional program that supports all students in developing their academic, social, and personal potential. This role fosters an inclusive, engaging learning environment and prepares students for success as active, independent learners

Job Responsibilities

• Design and deliver standards-aligned instruction using research-based best practices.
• Develop clear, measurable learning goals that meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Use student data and multiple assessment methods to guide instruction and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with special educators to support IEP development and implementation.
• Integrate academic content with social-emotional learning and real-world applications.
• Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture.
• Establish high expectations for learning and behavior while supporting student engagement and pride in work.
• Implement trauma-informed, restorative, and proactive behavior support strategies.
• Use varied instructional strategies, flexible grouping, and purposeful questioning.
• Adapt instruction in response to student needs, interests, and feedback.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, families, and support staff.
• Participate in EST/504/IEP processes, meetings, and school initiatives.

Education, Training and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education
• Valid or eligible Vermont Early Childhood certification (Birth–Age 6).
• Strong knowledge of early childhood education practices.
• Effective communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Understanding of Vermont Education Quality Standards and the PreK environment.
