Job Description
The Mount Abraham Unified School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our team at Robinson Elementary School for two days a week. The School Nurse will be responsible for managing the health and well-being of our students, ensuring a safe and healthy school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct healthcare services to students, including first aid, emergency care, and management of acute and chronic
illnesses.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Conduct health assessments, screenings, and evaluations.
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students.
• Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with specific health needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to promote a healthy school environment.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal health regulations and school district policies.
• Serve as a liaison between the school, parents, and community healthcare providers.
• Participate in emergency response planning and training.


Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift and move students as needed.
• Ability to stand, walk, and reach for extended periods.
• Work Environment:
• School-based setting with frequent interaction with students, staff, and parents.
• May be exposed to infectious diseases and other health risks.
• This is a full time, school year position.

The salary is commensurate with experience and per the MAEA collective bargaining agreement for instructional staff.

Job Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Vermont.
• Must have, or be eligible for a Vermont issued professional educator license.
• Completed an educational orientation program provided through the Agency of Education and based on the requirements for delivery of health services as defined in the Vermont School Quality Standards and the Vermont manual titled Standards of Practice: School Health Services.
• Experience: Previous experience in pediatric, public health, or school nursing preferred.
• Certification: First Aid, CPR/AED certification required.
• Skills: Strong clinical and assessment skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
Bachelor degree preferred.
Citizenship, residency or work visa required
