Educational Assistant for Middle/High School Student Support

Job Description
The Mount Abraham Unified School District is looking for an educational assistant for special education to join our team. The educational assistant will provide academic and behavioral support to students with an individualized education program under the direction of a professional staff member. Responsibilities include communication facilitation, carrying out programs designed by the teaching staff, managing behavior, teaching self-regulation skills, and supporting and facilitating social engagement with peers. Physical responsibilities include lifting, carrying, personal care, and the ability to assess a situation and respond quickly.

The pay range is $22.46 – $26.95 based on education and experience. This position follows the school calendar.

Job Requirements
•Associate degree or highly qualified paraprofessional certification.
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
•Ability to follow administrative guidelines, work independently and meet deadlines.
•Ability to work collaboratively.
•Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with students, parents, staff, and members of the community.
•Ability to utilize software applications applicable to school operations and activities.
At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
Associate degree preferred.
Citizenship, residency or work visa required
