Job Description
The Mount Abraham Unified School District (MAUSD) is a public school dedicated to providing a high-quality education for all students. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team of Educational Assistants at Monkton Central School for three months beginning September 2025.
The Educational Assistant will work under the direction of certified teachers to provide instructional and support services to students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
• Assist teachers in implementing instructional activities and strategies to meet the individual needs of students.•
• Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to students as directed by the teacher.
• Support students with academic tasks, including reading, writing, math, and other subjects.
• Assist with classroom management and behavior support, including implementing positive behavior interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Assist with the supervision of students during classroom activities, transitions, and other times as needed.
Working Conditions:
• This hours are 7:45 am to 3:15 pm.
• This position reports to the school principal.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
• Associate's degree or Highly Qualified Paraprofessional Certification required.
• Previous experience working with students in a school or educational setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and development.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
Associate degree preferred.
Citizenship, residency or work visa required
